The Lesson of Mama Jane

This face espression tells something about the moments I spent together this wonderful family: parents, Mama Jane & Randy, their  three soons and their wives.

These pictures came with these words:

"We can 't thank you enough for the incredible cooking "experience" you provided our Family last month when we were with you in Florence. Every time our Sons and their wives recount to others various adventures and sights of our trip to Italy, YOUR SCHOOL and the afternoon/evening we spent with you cooking is always the highlight. That goes for Randy and I as well. We can't even begin to communicate to others the absolute joy you gave us as we chopped, sliced, mixed, kneaded, simmered, cut, wrung out (eggplant!) and finally ate our creations. You are a remarkable teacher/chef and we are indebted to you for an unforgettable, lifelong memory. Others would be lucky to find you and spend time in your kitchen and in your presence."

After a letter like this, it is hard to find words good enough. Just I want to say that, when meetings like this one happen, I tend to think that, if people would cook more ( and gather, share, enjoy and understand what life is) there would be less wars in the world.

Mama Jane, you have been teaching big lessons to your kids. Mine, teaching just a few dishes, was nothing compared to the great  job the great mamas like you are able to do.

Grazie Mama Jane!
